Blog:
We heard you, our business traveler and BlackBerry® user, when you asked for an app. Now, the wait is over.
Earlier this year we launched our Delta iPhone app and received overwhelmingly positive feedback. Today we launched our newest app to support devices running on BlackBerry OS 5.0 or higher. Now you can check in, view flight status and more from your BlackBerry device.
Download the free app now to:
- View flight status and gate information
- Search upcoming flight schedules
- Access your SkyMiles account information
- View airport information and weather updates
Remember, when you’re in the air you can use any of our apps or view delta.com for free by connecting to Gogo® Inflight Internet. Stay updated with your business needs while also checking your connecting flight information or other travel plans.
We look forward to hearing your thoughts on the new app!

It’s great to see Delta moving forward with mobile apps. Any word when us Android users will be able to join the fun? I’ve been using the mobile site (the improvements are very good BTW) but having an app like the one on the iPhone would be great. Thanks for all the hard work!

“P.S. To our Android users, stay tuned – we will have an app coming out for you very soon.”
Sweeter words have not before been spoken! Thanks for the great efforts and I’ll be looking forward to the Android app!

P.S. Another one of these “One App. One Million Miles.” Sweepstakes” would be great when you do release an Android app!!!!

It is nice that Delta is offering these wonderful apps. Maybe now they could offer wonderful service and actually get you where you need to go on time.

Nice to have the application available via App World but some folks who have corporate BlackBerry’s are unable to use App World and therefore unable to download the application. You should make available by placing a barcode which is scanable or download the application directly from delta.com.

Blackberry? From what I have read the Android system has far outstripped Blackberry in usage. When is the ‘droid app coming out?

Why no support for the Blackberry 9780? This says that the app supports 5.0 and later, the 9780 comes with 6.0, but yet it’s not on the list of supported devices and Blackberry App World says my device isn’t supported.

No support for the BB 8330 or 8320. I am unable to use this app. I also had to delete the iPad Delta app because it kept hanging. Come on guys…..give us some usable tools!

In a Facebook update last month, Delta said that an Android app would be out by the end of the year. I assumed that meant the end of 2010, but maybe we should have asked for clarification… Why would there even be a Blackberry app out before an Android app??

Will they be adding My Trips to the Blackberry App. I tried checking itineraries, but it won’t list any of my flights because they are further than 24 hours out…..to see My Trips. But My Trips is only available as far as I can tell by visiting the full site (cumbersome and too small). It would be a great addition for a future upgrade to add the My Trips tab to the mobile site. Just a suggestion. Thanks!

With the upcoming release of OS 2.0 for the Playbook, how about porting over the Android app for the platform?

I have to say, though this article is from over 2 years ago, I still think this is one of the best ideas that Delta has had. It makes keeping updated with your flight schedules so easy. My only request would be to add the boarding time. Other than that it is very easy to use and makes travel less stressful. No one is going to use their cellphone, and paperless is always a good thing!
