Travel Like The Pros With the Delta Sky Store

When you think of a good travel companion, what comes to mind? Prepared? Resourceful? Knowledgeable?

Today we’re excited to bring you all of that (and more!) with the new Delta Sky Store. Now open, this one-stop travel shop has everything you need for your upcoming trips. But this isn’t just any old travel store—it’s a store filled with products selected by Delta people. Who better to tell you the best bag to fit in an overhead bin or the most durable carry-on than the people who live it everyday? That’s why all of the items have been hand-selected by our own travel experts—the familiar faces you see at every leg of your journey—so you know you’re getting recommendations on the best gear around. Here’s a peek at a few of the current offerings:

  • Luggage and bags from Samsonite®, Victorinox, Tumi® and Kenneth Cole®
  • Cameras and electronics from Canon®, Beats by Dr. Dre, Nikon® and Garmin®
  • Clothing and accessories from Adidas®, Cole Haan®, Johnston & Murphy® and Bolle®
  • Golf and other sports equipment from Callaway®, Nike®, Puma® and Titleist®

To celebrate, you’ll receive one free Gogo® Inflight Internet pass when you spend $150 or more at the store (for a limited time).

Our doors are open (virtually, of course), so visit the Delta Sky Store online to stock up on all your travel needs. It’s just one more way to simplify your travel experience.

Let’s Go Cardinals!

If you’re a Cards fan we don’t need to tell you about the Happy Flight phenomena, but we can certainly show you how we’re celebrating it at Delta in St. Louis!

In my job as an ACS (Airport Customer Service) Performance Leader in STL, I work with other agents to ensure you move smoothly from curbside to planeside. So why am I writing this blog? Among my team, I’m known as “the Cardinals guy.” And well, I took my vacation to coincide with the World Series, so I could focus all my energies on cheering for the Cards! So you can only imagine how excited I am about seeing all of the action here at Delta.

The Cardinals have, without doubt, the best fans in all of baseball…and for good reason.  It’s easy to support a team that is made up of individuals with not only the highest level of talent but also the highest level of character.  They are smart, focused, and maybe most importantly, they themselves are true fans of the game! As a long time Delta employee, I can see why we’re proud sponsor of their organization, and I’m glad we could help make you part of the CARDINAL NATION.

More Economy Comfort Means More Room to Relax!

Update: You can now purchase Economy Comfort on transcon flights! Check out delta.com for the specific offerings and to book your next flight.
———

Last summer we introduced Economy Comfort on our international flights and it’s proven to be a huge hit with all of you! Since then we’ve received a ton of feedback and many of you have asked us ‘when will you make this available on the rest of your flights?’ Well today we’re happy to share that beginning in late spring for travel next summer, you can select Economy Comfort on more than 800 additional planes!

The product will be offered on domestic and short-haul international flights onboard all of our domestic 767, 757, 737, MD88, MD90, A320, A319, DC9 and all two-class regional jets including the CRJ900, CRJ700, E170 and E175 aircraft.  Here’s what the seats will offer:

  • 34+ inches of pitch. This means even more legroom!
  • Priority Boarding. Now you can have just a little extra time to stow your carry-on and relax as you travel to your destination.

So how does it work? Once you have your Economy ticket purchased, you can choose an Economy Comfort seat via delta.com, our self-service kiosks or Delta reservations for an additional fee of $19-$99 one-way including Alaska, Hawaii, and short-haul international flights. Or, if you purchased a full-fare Economy class ticket, you’ll get complimentary access to the new seats.

Just like our long-haul international Economy Comfort option, if you’re a SkyMiles Medallion member you’ll receive added benefits. Here’s the breakdown:

  • Diamond/Platinum/Gold: Complimentary access at time of booking
  • Silver Medallion: 50% discount at the time of purchase or free access at check-in

We hope you like the expanded Economy Comfort product and we’d love to hear your thoughts. What flight are you booking next summer that might include an itinerary with an EC seat?
