I have a question, that disturbs me as an ex flight attendant. It might seem stupid, but it is not! How can the FAA,allow you to "FLY" to Montreal, without having at LEAST ONE FRENCH SPEAKING CREW MEMBER???? I was a flight attendant for another American Airline in the 80s,and one of the reasons,I skipped the "milk runs"is that (one, they had started to fly to PARIS) and they had two flights to Montreal.(ORD and LGA,pretty big cities, yes, but nonetheless, your flights to Montreal, are usually pretty full.In the last 5 yrs,I have had two flight attendants ask"does somebody speak French here".Both times I was more than happy to help out, people dont realize who hard that job is!(It was under the NORTHWEST BANNER,but under DELTA you are still doing it!) On one of these flights,a 13 yr old boy was frightened (ironically he had a "companion Flight attendant, but what good does that do,if they cant communicate too well????,because Plane at MSP was "broken"and we were changing terminals and plane. He didnt understand,so I took him with "US".Second time, poor woman had a panic attack. Being bilingual and having the experience,of being a FA,again I was happy to oblige.Im not going to hide the fact that I prefer Air Canada, they have not been voted "best airline in North America for nothing"and every where they go,they announce in Canada 's two official Languages. Most American carriers,READ SAFETY RULES AT LEAST IN FRENCH.They may boucher my native tongue, but they are doing the effort.I would like to know,do you have a French speaking FA,when you go to Paris? There are 7 million people in Quebec,5.5 million are French speaking or bilingual.Isnt it a rule?????Just a question, not a criticism.

My grandfather showed me his delta wings he got during a flight he took years ago. He rescently passed away but before he died he made me promise to eventually get my own. I am flying with Delta later this month and am tempted to ask for my own. A promise is a promise.

On Feb. 17, 1994 we left Sacramento on Delta #462 heading to Orlando on my 10 year old son Aaron's Make-A-Wish trip. Aaron and 7 yr old sister Andrea got to sit in the cockpit and the co-pilot took his own gold wings off his uniform and pinned them on Aaron. Little did he know how very special that would be. Aaron went into a coma the next morning on the way to the ship. Those wings were the only bright light in a very difficult time. Andrea has cherished those wings and that memory and they are still in her safe keeping today. I would love to be able to pass our sincere gratitude on to that pilot who left a wonderful Imprint on our hearts.
If anyone can help put me locate him it would be very much appreciated.

This old Flying Colonel (FC) remembers the days when the youngsters would have an opportunity to visit the cockpit in flight. Earliest personal recall was the unique experience of the captain of another legacy carrier allowing me to briefly sit in his DC-3 cockpit seat while the co-pilot retained flight control. The captain presented me with a "junior pilot certificate" which remains to this day in my safe deposit box as a very special memento. Yippee for the return of the DL wings.

I am so happy we have wings!!! Question-- do you think the next batch could be without the pins? I wanted to send some to my daughter's 3rd grade class, but with pins they couldn't take them. And, being a mother and Grandma, I know everything goes in the little one's mouth. It would be much safer to have the little stickems on the the back. What do you think?
Thanks!

I have been handing out the gold wings for a few weeks now. The response has been amazing! I think the parents are as excited as the kids when I give them the pins. Great PR, glad to have them back.

Awesome! I remember collecting wings from different airlines when I was a kid & still have all of them, including a number from Delta.

At 23, I may have to swallow my pride later this month on my way to Florida & ask for a pair to add to the collection I built up in the '90s & early 2000s!
