Great idea but poorly executed promotion! Why is the contest effectively limited to iPhone users? Doesn’t Delta know there are more Skymiles members without iPhones than with. Yeah, we can snail mail a handwritten entry each day if we don’t have an iPhone, but who’s really going to do that (is not easy and its not free, while the iPhone app is both)? Delta spends a lot of time and money trying to be politically correct and not discriminate against anybody, but then turns around and discriminates against me because I don’t have an iPhone, partly because ATT service is nonexistent once you leave the big towns. I challenge Delta to immediately correct this contest by allowing anyone that logs in to Delta.com from any device to have an entry, no matter whether it is a PC, iPhone, Windows Mobile, Android or other web-enabled phone. And, if it takes a week to correct the contest, then add a week for everyone except iPhone app users just to make it fair!

The only thing that hasn’t allowed me to download it to my iPod Touch is not being able to transfer purchases downloaded directly to my iPod to iTunes to allow the software upgrade which will, in turn, allow me to download the app. I can’t figure out how to get the items transferred…any ideas?

I downloaded the app last week before the promotion was announced. How do I register for the promotion? I was not given an opportunity to register when I downloaded.

Visually, the app is beautiful. But am I the only person that noted the critical feature not included? Why would Delta or any airline release an app that does not allow me to book (or change) a flight? Until this functionality is added, the app is not very useful to frequent travelers.

Great start; I’m sure you’re already working on 1. access to full Skymiles account info; 2. possibility of building and purchasing multi city itineraries; 3. link/access to schedules of Skyteam partners, 4. seatmaps

How do we find who the winners are? The rules mentioned that the list of winners will be posted on delta.com but it’s not listed anywhere on the front page.

Hi there. Downloaded the app and like it a lot but it doesn’t seem to give me the option of having my boarding pass on my iPhone. Does that option only appear when the airport participates in that program or is there something I’m missing?
Thanks,
Steven

Nice app, but another essential feature is missing: Gate information. When I fly through Atlanta, I’d like to be able to log on when I land, find the gate I’m arriving at and look up my departure gate.

No response to salsaphile still… where is the list of weekly winners? The contest page says “Be sure to check the delta.com homepage to see if you’ve won.”

I love the ‘look and feel’ of the app, and find it is very professional looking. However, I must agree with some earlier posts, ability to;
book a flight, change a flight, gate information, seat maps, multi-city bookings, skymiles account info, boarding pass, and skyteam partner’s (that might be a stretch). AirFrance recently launched their app, and bam, it’s all on their app – first release. Good job as a start, but let’s add some more advanced features.

Any update on the winners? Kind of misleading to say they’ll be posted and have no sign of them. Also, the link at the footer for more details goes to terms for a completely new promo.

Papasteves–I work for Delta’s Marketing department and can help answer your question! All winners thus far have been notified via the delta.com homepage. If you do not see a “You’ve Won!” message and have not been contacted by our team, please try again next time. Also, since the promotion has expired, we have replaced it with a new promotion to benefit BCRF. Thanks for your comments!

The Delta iPhone app looks great but needs some serious attention to make it USABLE!
Gate information – essential.
Time of flight – is displayed wrong if you change your iPhone time for your current timezone. Gives wrong information!
When you use the ‘Add to Calendar’ feature – it uses teh record locator and not the flight number – Gives meaningless information!
Please get these added to a list – does someone from Delta iPhone apps team read these blogs?
Thanks,

I must agree with some earlier posts, ability to;
book a flight, change a flight, gate information, seat maps, multi-city bookings, skymiles account info, boarding pass, change seats, view upgrade status. It’s also a little buggy at times. I have to logout then back in to get more recent info. It seams to get stuck with the local cache.

When will the Droid app be issued? Soon we hope!

There seems to be a bug in the boarding
Pass feature. The error message I get while
Trying to view my boarding pass after
Checking in via the app is – “no saved
Boarding passes”. It used to work fine
Until last month.
I have the iPhone 4.

Great App!
Also needs off-line (no wifi) timetable look up. The new Sky Team App even has this.
