This week I had the great pleasure to attend the Breast Cancer Research Foundation’s Hot Pink Party with about 20 Delta employees. This is the annual spring gala that BCRF hosts to celebrate the organization’s achievements toward finding a cure for breast cancer. It was a fabulous night and BCRF did an amazing job. From the touching presentations to the performance by the incredible Sir Elton John, it was a magical and memorable evening.
It was wonderful to attend the gala, but even more wonderful to present a check to BCRF on behalf of 70,000 Delta employees for $1 Million—double the amount we presented last year! The employees and customers of Delta really outdid themselves last October. Employees contributed personally through the purchase of pink uniform accessories and other items and our customers purchased a lot of pink lemonade! The funds raised will fund four researchers for an entire year, and through the good work of BCRF there is hope for a cure for breast cancer in our lifetime.
To further show our support, Delta announced that this summer, we will commemorate our sixth year of support for BCRF with a new signature pink plane. The Boeing 767-400 aircraft will extend Delta’s ‘pink’ message internationally by replacing an existing pink-and-white Boeing 757 that has flown primarily in North America since 2005.
Have you seen the “Pink Plane”? If so, we’d love to see your photos. Where would you like to see the new 767-400 “Pink Plane”? Tweet us @deltablog or leave you comments below.

It is great that my favorite aircraft (the Boeing 767-400ER) is being painted in a nice pink livery. Reminds me of some nice smooth jazz. Here is a preview right here:

Still, it would be nice if both a domestic and an international aircraft can wear a pink livery.

A Domestic airplane would get so much more exposure than the 764. Shorter segments, more day flying, multiple destinations. I like this 764 Pink plane, but another Pink plane flying in the U.S. would continue to foster much patronage and good will toward Delta and the Breast Cancer cause. Why not have both? Delta got so much benefit from the 757 Pink plane. It really gives Delta a community presence.

Thanks for what you’re doing. My mom’s a breast cancer survivor & I always appreciate gestures like this to try and end the disease, especially when people like Delta are able to raise millions for the cure.
I agree with what’s been said above, though…why not keep N610DL AND paint the 764 in pink paint schemes? They’re two different paint schemes & unless you’re in Atlanta, New York, Detroit, or the handful of other U.S. cities that get the 764, you won’t see it stateside. Keeping the 757 in pink adds exposure all over the U.S. & takes the message to the cities that see the 757.

Just a little update, from what I heard, the Pink 767-400ER should be unveiled tomorrow. I can’t wait to see it.
Just as a little idea to further spread the word of breast cancer, perhaps the interior should also get a pink treatment, with pink leather seats and signage once the new flat-bed seats in BusinessElite seats are installed.

Well, here it is. It has been a little longer than expected, however, it has finally been unveiled:
