re mikewoodruff above: CO psgrs can purchase $5 "Continental Currency" coupons at the check-in kiosks ... coupons can be used to purchase snacks, drinks, entertainment, etc on any flight (and to my knowledge they don't expire) ... DL might want to look into this as a customer service enhancement

Hey Katie-

I saw how you said the regional fleet won't be accepting credit cards at this time - but how about an option to pre-purchase beverage/food vouchers for use on these flights? Ie. using one of the airport self serve check-in, if one of their flights offers beverage or food service, customers would be able to purchase an alcoholic beverage voucher for use on a specific flight, and the machine would print out a voucher for use on that particular flight?

Just a thought!

Been a while since I commented. But this caught my attention.
I truly think this is a VERY BAD idea. Does it really take that much longer to make a purchase with cash? I know this is probably easier for the financial department, but a lot of travelers may have problems with this. As a college freshman, many of my friends don't have credit cards. However, many of them are traveling by air for the holidays. How do they pay? With their parents' cards. They can't use their parents' credit cards to buy a snack in-flight.
I'm glad that Connection is still cash-only. Means I can still take them to JFK and have food if need be.

I think it's great to switch the drinks every now and then. I LOVE the onboard cocktails - and I get sick of having the same ones month after month. Bring back the Copenhagen Colada -- that one is delicious!!!

I wonder why you don't stock snack boxes and other snacks-for-sale on flights that don't meet the minimum length requirement. All of the foods are shelf-stable and there are times when I'm on a 1.5 hour or so flight where I would definitely buy a snack box. It seems like Delta would make extra revenue AND give customers options by stocking the snacks-for-sale on ALL flights. That's a win-win!

cakdeltafan, Thanks for your feedback. Will relay to appropriate parties. Did you see Jen's review of our Leinenkugels Sunset Wheat btw? Worth a read - interesting about how beer tastes different at 30,000 feet.

data8504, lol thanks for noticing!

golich17, You always have awesome suggestions! Love the gift card idea and will relay to appropriate contacts. Tally up another vote for Biscoff too - thanks for sharing!

JamesK, Yes, you are correct - Delta will still take cash and credit on international flights and will not accept credit cards on Delta Connection flights at this time. Thanks for helping us clarify!

Last I heard, the credit card devices are not going to be available on Delta Connection or Northwest Airlink, and all Connection/Airlink purchases will continue to be cash-only.

Has this changed?

I love this idea! I was on a Northwest flight back in July and was sad to hear that they did not accept credit/debit cards, but now I'm happy to hear they do. One thing, might I suggest, I believe you guys should offer is a type of "gift card" to use on-board that way people who don't have or don't believe in having a credit/debit card can purchase items on-board. While I don't see it being a huge problem, you will probably run into a very difficult customer here and there that will make a big fuss about this.

My favorite item is most definitely the biscoff!

My favorite treat is the Leinenkugels Sunset Wheat beer. Very pleased to have enjoyed it from ZRH to ATL in September. Very sad to find out it will be replaced with Michelob Ultra. Can't you keep it? Please don't stock mass-produced beers like all the other carriers!

Otherwise, I'm a big fan of Deltas inflight service!

HWGeek, Great feedback. We do have a thorough backup plan in place in case the machines don't work on your flight, but why focus on the negative? The future is in plastics. :)

JSprague24, yum Biscoff! We're definitely continuing to roll out our AVOD systems. Check delta.com to see if your plane will have it before you buy.

nealio, we love the mojitos too! You are correct that we've updated our menu to the Pomegranate Martini for the season. But we'll definitely keep in mind your feedback during the next update. Need to keep it fresh. Give pom a try!
