Jim Thorpe profiled Delta’s Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer Theresa Wise in yesterday’s AJC. Learn the latest about the progress of our IT system integration at the AJC article. Good stuff!
Do you have any additional questions for Theresa and our IT team?

When will we be able to add our long names to our Int and Hyphens to our last name?

My best wishes to Theresa and her IT team. Delta.com is lacking in some key functions, so the combo of Northwest’s amazing & customer-friendly technology with Delta’s oboard service will be hard to match.

Hi Theresa,
When do you think you’ll fix the online “award” calendar?

Is there any chance you can bring over the CASH & MILES from NWA. It is the best program in the AIR. NWA receives some revenue for my travels and I get to use my miles to fly the way I want. Please please please keep this great program!

HWGeek and aholbrook, Thank you for your questions. We will send along to Theresa.
nealio, Wow thanks! That’s great of you to say. I’ll pass your wishes along to the team.
bc322032, Delta has a similar program for SkyMiles members with a Gold, Platinum, or Reserve Delta SkyMiles American Express Credit Card called Pay with Miles (and you can use money too).

Thanks Katie for the reply. As a Silver Medallion Delta member, I know about the Pay with Miles program – but it is far short of the quality of the NWA one. With the Cash & Miles, a flyer can EARN miles for the revenue part of the trip. Then, you can use all the miles you want to get the seats for the way back. Once you use any Pay with Miles, you loose all ability to earn miles. As all forms of revenue should be looked at in this challenging market, I hope Delta looks at the profitability of the NWA program before it is just dropped for Pay with Miles!

bc322032, Ah, my apologies. Sure, I’ll pass your suggestion along to appropriate contacts. Thanks!!

Katie – I know I raised this on another thread, but I think it would be fantastic if Delta.com had a feature that allowed you to purchase carbon offsets for your flight when you purchase tickets as an additional option just like the travel insurance that is offered as an option at time of purchase.

Eh? Is the option to buy a carbon offset not available anymore?
The last time I booked a roundtrip with Delta I was able to purchase one (at time of purchasing the tickets).
Two people travelling internationally resulting in $22 for planting trees to offset carbon emissions.

You can buy them but you have to dig through the web site to find them – hint – about look under “Delta’s Force For Global Good”. I think it would be a far better idea to have it as an option just like the trip insurance. you check a box next to carbon offsets and voila, that’s it. proceed to purchase. Expedia has this option and it is fantastic.
