“It’s the queen of the skies,” Nip Hill, then a truck driver for Delta, had to say when the DC 8 arrived in Atlanta. Pictured in the August 1959 Digest whick fetured the inaugural flight of the first jet, Nip said of the plane, “All of the pride and glory of Delta Air Lines is right there.”
