Cool - thanks for posting! Better than what’s in Sky!
A few questions:
-Will the DC-9-30/40 get painted?
-Why haven’t any A332’s gotten the new paint?
-Why is the DELTA font so much smaller on the NW aircraft? Even though the DC-9’s have the same forward fuselage as the MD88/90, the font is noticeably smaller!
I know it’s not a big deal, but I noticed some (minor?) inaccuracies in the information displayed for the mainline fleet. The correct information should read:
Hi CruzerToo, if you click the image twice, it should bring up a large image - very large. Let me know if you’re still having problems and I can post another way.
Chris- I saw some Embraer 120’s in SLC back in April and according to SkyWest they still have 12 in operation for Delta. Are the Embraer 120s only operated under Delta code so SkyWest can serve places like St. George, Cedar City, Pocatello, etc where the the CRJ would be inefficient?
E 120s are operated by SkyWest. My guess is they’re being left in SkyWest house colors and that’s why they were excluded from the list. Maybe it has something to do with at-risk vs. fee-per-departure flying but I’m not sure on that point.
Jinal…As a fellow airline/airplane/aviation geek, I appreciate the detailed info. I’ll see about updating the nomenclature. In the meantime I hope you like the artwork…I think our illustrator did a fantastic job…so I’ll give him a shout out…

pnagrows…I’m not sure why the font on the A330s looks so much smaller. It may be because of the scale of the D E L T A font in relation to the size of the fuselage.
That would be a question for our branding team…I’ll see if I can persuade one of them to post some info.
Chris- what is the approx time interval required to paint the average aircraft and is the paint schedule integrated with other planned maintenance work for a given ship?
rmagon99…it takes 5-10 days to paint a plane depending on the size of the aircraft.
Paints are not integrated with other maintenance due to EPA requirements and close-up requirements (i.e. painting an aircraft requires all the doors to be sealed making accomplishing maintenance impossible during the strip and paint of an aircraft).
This is awesome! But to add to Jinal’s list, don’t forget the 757-26D! You have one of them, remember? =P And if I recall correctly, you have a few non–332(ER?) 767s; I think they’re from Gulf Air. Maybe just write those codes in parentheses or something? I mean, there’s only one 757-26D.
Oh, and at least include the CR1– you have so many of them!
Way to go!
Apart from the repaint work from NWA to DL, are there pictures of the revisions to the interiors? I’m particularly interested in the 747-400 (International) Business Elite.

What about the EMB 120?
August 5th, 2009 at 2:19 pm
Thanks for sharing, I always love seeing these. Is Delta even flying any of the DC-9s right now? I assume they came from NWA?

Really glad to see lovely 742 with new livery. Does this mean they are still active? If so, any charter use?
August 5th, 2009 at 6:56 pm
AirlineReporter-Yep all the DC-9s are Northwest Airlines aircraft. They should be flying around(at least the -50s) for the foreseeable future.

Nice work Chris.
I know it’s not a big deal, but I noticed some (minor?) inaccuracies in the information displayed for the mainline fleet. The correct information should read:
757-200 TATL (with winglets) : 757-2Q8, -231, -251
757-200 (without winglets) : 757-212, -232, -251
DC9-30 : DC9-31, -32
MD-90 : MD90-30
A319 : A319-114
A320 : A320-211, -212
A330-200 : A330-223
A330-300 : A330-323
Also, if you included the 747-251B as part of the fleet, why not the 742F? They too are still flying, aren’t they? :p
747-200F : 747-251B, -251F, -249F, -212F

Cool picture, and Skywest operates the Emb-120 out of SLC.
