Happy Pride everyone!
This weekend marks Delta’s continuing presence at Pride events held throughout the U.S. Hundreds of Delta employees will participate in New York City’s Heritage of Pride celebration and the Twin Cities Pride celebration in Minneapolis.
And we haven’t forgotten our hometown…Pride events in Atlanta have moved to Halloween weekend this year and Delta will again be an official sponsor.
So, what do we have planned for the big weekend? Delta’s Marketing team, working with several of our agency partners, will ensure the rainbow colors are flying high – along with Delta’s red, white and blue. We’ve got Delta’s classic “MINI Cooper with wings,” tons of great giveaways for the thousands that will be lining the parade route and a seriously tricked-out DJ truck that’ll be playing some of this summer’s hottest dance music.
I’d like to give props to our audio production partner – DMI Music & Media Solutions with consultation from Joel Salkowitz, Program Director of Pulse 87 FM in NYC – for creating an amazing four-hour set that will be sure to keep the energy flowing this weekend.
Some of the standout tracks include:
- Manny Lehman “Body Rock”
- Keri Hilson ft. Timbaland “Return the Favor” (Mike Rizzo Funk Generation Club Mix)
- Ron Reeser – Dan Saenz ft. Myah “Everything”
- Kaci Battaglia “Crazy Possessive” (Tony Moran & Warren Rigg Club Mix)
- Pink “Please Don’t Leave Me” (Digital Dog Remix)
Many of the songs from the Pride playlist can currently be heard onboard Delta via the “Party in the Sky” show and this month’s “Delta Pride” show.
As always, we’d love to know what you think of Delta’s onboard entertainment options.
Have a great weekend!

In-Flight Entertainment

I have been severely disappointed recently with the onboard entertainment. I have been waiting to post my concerns and frustrations. Flew TPA-SMF and return, first class. No AVID on any plane. Five and half hour flight.
Then flew TPA-ATL few day later. No screens. What got me about that was that plane was leaving ATL for Paris. How is Delta charging the fares they are when other carriers have lie flat seats and video on demand, plus good food.
Really disappointed in Delta’s entertainment on board.
I am a frequent flyer and the last 12 flights have had nada! Please work on.

As a gay Platinum Medallion this type of post and outreach reinforces why I choose to do business with Delta.

I’m also a gay Platinum Medallion and support like this is one of the many reasons I choose to keep flying Delta even after hitting 150,000 MQM’s in June. Great job Delta. Keep it up.

Juanefny…thanks for that compliment. It’s appreciated! If you’re in NYC this weekend, keep an eye out for the red Widget!

flaflyer…sorry to hear about your recent flights.
I’m not sure if I’m understanding your comment correctly. Are you saying there was no entertainment at all on the plane or that it wasn’t on demand entertainment via the personal seatback screen?
Delta has the largest fleet of AVOD-equipped aircraft in the world and one of the largest fleets of overhead IFE-equipped aircraft.
We’re continuing to install AVOD on additional aircraft and our new deliveries will have AVOD as well. We currently have 3 767-400ER and 8 777-200LR a/c with flat bed seats and we’ll install flat beds on an additional 4 767-400ERs this summer.
Also, based on the positive customer feedback on our new 767 flat beds, our goal is to put that seat on the remaining 767-400s.

Sorry I wasn’t clear. Yes, I meant AVOD. I have actually had great experience on Delta for the past year. I guess I got lucky. Every flight I was on had personal screens. I was thinking it was pretty much on all the fleet. So, I couldn’t believe it wasn’t on plane to SMF. And then on next 12 planes, no personal screens. Some have been long flights, some short. Some large planes, some small panes.
I am glad to hear more flat beds coming. I hope with that update, AVOD will be installed.

I will indeed be there. I’ll be flying to ny tomorrow (on delta of course) and I will look out for it! Btw I saw it last year, it was great.

Is there a reason Delta wasn’t part of Utah Pride? SLC is a hub city, too, yet JetBlue was the airline sponsor there. What gives?

Chris.. for future reference… in New York City it’s officially a “march” and NOT a “parade.” I missed it, but in the subway I saw someone wearing a DELTA t-shirt, with “Force for Global Good” on the back. Assume he was part of the Delta contingent.
