Dear Cris. B: I am excited about the new Delta, it's truly the best american airline, specially in customer service. Just a quick question...
I am flying Business-Elite JFK-FCO Sep-24, flight D148 on a Boeing 767-400ER, configuration 2-2-2, will I find flat bed seats? AVOD ? On the way back FCO-JFK, it's flight D169 Boeing 767-300ER also config 2-2-2. Last time I did this same flight was in 2007. What should find different this time ?
Thanks, JDVS.

Hi just a coment,
I was wondering.
As a nw employee soon to be a delta retiree,
I remember when we had ife on the 320-200 a/cs ships 3201-3250.
then we received the 3251-3275 series and the 3101 319s ships and they didn't have any ife.
Plus we removed ifes from the 757-200 5500 and 5600 a/cs is dl thinking of reinstalling ife on these fleet types.
Thanks

danaholic, the answer to your question is obvious if you take a moment to think about it.

The 747s belonged to Northwest until the merger, so they only recently became Delta property. And I know many people don't understand this, but it takes more than an executive signing a piece of paper to put AVOD into an aircraft - it involves scheduling the aircraft out of service and doing an extensive, expensive, overhaul of the aircraft's interior.

I fully expect that in a few years we will see AVOD on all of Delta's widebody aircraft and most, if not all, of the 757s. But until then, if I am on an aircraft that is not equipped with AVOD, I will understand installation is not instantaneous.

Chris....one thing only...I think it's odd you don't have AVOD, but only an overhead screen for international route on 767-300s. I mean, the flight is a long one and an overhead screen doesn' t really seems to be appropriate. I'll fly from MIL to JFK and then from nyc to Miami.....but more than 9 hours without a personal entertainment system? ........

HI!

I will be flying to Atlanta from Hawaii at the end of August on a 747. I read up at the top that the 747's don't have personal tvs in economy. But I was on seatguru and it said this....

"Each BusinessElite seat has in-seat personal video with audio and video onDemand (AVOD) with a touchscreen. BusinessElite passengers receive noise-canceling headphones.

To accommodate for the personal video, power boxes are located under many of the seats in economy, which greatly restricts legroom. Also, as with all touchscreens on the seatback, it can be bothersome when the person behind you is using it."

It says "power boxes are located under many of the seats in economy". So does that mean there are personal tvs on every seat?

I am very curious as to whether or not the aircraft will have the personal tvs as I get bored very quick and I'm not a very good flyer. Having my own tv will help the time go by faster.

Hope to hear from you soon! Thanks!

Hey Chris!

Just took an AVOD flight from ATL to SEA and I was pretty excited since I haven't been able to try the system. I have a few questions about the system for a blog I am writing up and wondering if I could ask via email?

Thanks!
David
