How do we tell the tail number of the plane when we book the flight?
March 18th, 2009 at 10:27 pm
There is no way to tell the tail number of the aircraft when you book a flight. In fact, the tail number can change based on maintenance needs, delays, aircraft swaps, etc.

@HWGeek: It is not possible to know which ship you will be flying until 2-3 days before the flight. And even then, that information is not public. And even if it were, it could change up to an hour before the flight, or less in certain situations. The only thing you can do right now is cross your fingers. But don’t worry, with almost half the MD-88 fleet done and 2 more completed every night, all MD-88s will have wifi within a month. As for the 737s and 757s, they’ll be done by the end of the summer.

Since GoGo announced wi-fi for smartphones yesterday, will that be available on Delta flights that have wi-fi already?
I think GoGo said the cost will be 7.95 regardless of the flight time.

I am on board a 757 with GoGo and it is great. The connection is fast and reliable and it is sure making the time go by fast.

I am on a 767 to London on Tuesday. Flight 10 from Atlanta. Anyone know if that one is Wi-Fi? I would think so for a 8.5 hour flight.
