As we move into the third weekend of February, here’s the latest Wi-Fi installation update. Delta’s technical teams are averaging five installations a week and we now have 25 aircraft flying high with Wi-Fi — 21 MD88s and four 757s.

Just have the same question as before; if you can’t answer it (I’m not sure if you’re allowed to disclose this kind of stuff, etc.), don’t worry about it, I totally understand. I’m going to just quote myself: “I was [...] wondering if you use your own in-house filtering software or a third-party program such as WebSense. I’d like to do some research on it and the IB (International Baccalaureate) likes specifics.” Any response is appreciated.
I’m really interested in this whole topic; I think it’s fantastic that there are services which allow people to stay connected even when traveling. Flying used to create a space where one could get away from the rest of the world. Now, it can still do that, but also offers the option to remain productive and even entertained.
Reminds me of that movie… Go-Go Gadget Wi-Fi!

Thanks for the update Chris. I’ve read recently about a pending lawsuit against DL and Aircell for patent infringement… will this slow deployment?

Is there anyway to determine if a flight has WiFi on board when booking a trip? I would like to be able to book a trip on based flights that have WiFi enabled first.
