I used the Delta Wi-Fi on a flight from Boston to Atlanta last week. It worked very well and was impressed with the speed. I was probably the only one on the flight using it :-), but still was very fast.

Hi Chris,

I have used the WiFi on two occassions now. The first was flawless, the second was flawless until it quit all together (Flight to St. Thomas - I suspect we went out of range). During the time it worked - it was amazing. I updated my Facebook page from 30,000 feet and it really made the time fly (pun intended). Once the whole fleet is updated I can see a time where a transcontinental flight could be very productive time for me between email and chat. Thanks for being so progressive on this... now if you could just add this to the 14 hr Dubai route!

I logged in two weeks ago and listened to my local talk radio sports station in Portland. I emailed them that I was at 30,000 feet over LA listening to the show. They were blown away. The sound came in loud and clear.

Hi Chris,

Thank you for the information. One suggestion that might help with what HWGeek is looking for is to do something like Continental does on their web page. I know you are able to view the ship number when looking at flight information. It is usually available the evening before a flight. Is something like that possible for Delta?

Thanks Chris, I really appreciate your clear response (very good for essay writing ;) - quoted of course (if it's okay with you)). I was also wondering if you use your own in-house filtering software or a third-party program such as WebSense. I'd like to do some research on it and the IB (International Baccalaureate) likes specifics.
Again, I really appreciate your response. I'll email you guys my paper when it's done if you want =]

Jayo Z...yes we do filter certain sites that would universally be deemed inappropriate for the cabin environment.

HWGeek & SAN767DL...every a/c in the MD88, MD90, 737, 757-200 and 767-300 (domestic) fleets will be fitted with Wi-Fi. Additionally, we'll begin installs on the A319 and A320 fleets beginning in late 2009/2010.

pmcary...unfortunately we don't currently have a way to identify the tail number in the purchase path on delta.com.

golich17...thanks!

adammarcw...thanks for the feedback. I'm confident you'll see some additional plans and partnerships offered in the future.

Keep the comments comin'!

I used wifi on the shuttle during the free period before new years. It worked very well, impressively quick. The price seemed steep for the short shuttle flight (30 minutes of usage time), but I think would be okay for flights over 2 hours. When you get it on some more planes you should think about about discounts for CRC members, or monthly subscriptions? Or the abilty to buy the pass in the terminal over boingo and then transfer it to the plane at least in hubs.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the update... glad to see this rolling out across the fleet.

A question for you... is there any way for a pax to find out what tail #'s are scheduled to be used for a particular flight? Am flying next week, and wondering if there's a way in advance to see if I might get lucky and have a flight with WiFi.

Thanks, pmcary
