i really like the instruction video! I was checking in at SLC once, and there was a family that hadn’t traveled in a LONG time and had never seen a kiosk before… I’m sure they’d be happy to see this! Very well done!

I would recommend some mix up in the music, if you’re going to go back to “terminal static” after each segment… it got sort of annoying listening to the same audio content for each segment. I also like the voice over idea- would help those who are more audio inclined =)

Um, maybe one system you could set up in the Kiosks is the ability for re-booking of flights if something got cancelled, and not be charged the fee. I had a horrible experience waiting for 40 minutes to speak to an agent because my DL HNL – ATL flight got delayed for 8 hours, and i missed my connecting flight to TUL. Having a Kiosk way to resolve this (I love making my own changes) without being charged for it would be great.

But, YES! This video is GREAT!

Hi dennisarter, thanks! Yes, the player window on delta.com will be significantly larger, so I’ll let you know once it’s live next week and you can tell us whether the font size works. As pmcary references below, if you play in YouTube HD, the player there is also a little larger which makes for a better experience. Yes, in Flash you will be able to access each chapter separately, including replay options and deep links so you can send one section to a friend or family member instead of the whole demo. First, I would absolutely tell friends/family to watch this (I hope DL.COM will have a very obvious “Click Here” link during the on-line check-in process… have see way too many people stand in front of the kiosk not knowing what to do next) as it should be very helpful to them. Although you’ve probably thought of it, might want to see how to get expedia, orbitz, etc. post a link to it too.

Some feedback… on YouTube, it’s a little clearer when viewed in “HQ” mode. But I think still limited by the encode quality… I’ve seen pretty decent HD level content on YouTube, so that might help. Second, the “lobby noise” at each segments intro is a bit much, perhaps you can turn the recorded volume down? When you go to Flash, is there a way to embed ‘chapter’ markers in the content, so that if say you want to watch the ‘change seats’ part over, you can move the slider to the start of that section rather than guess/trial-error methods?

Overall, great… in fact, more of these (like a tutorial on best methods for using the dl.com award travel tool, etc.) would be a good thing.

While I like the music playing in the background what about someone reading the little pop-up things (Deltalina?). I think it’s more effective if someone is talking you through the video.

The information was useful — even this 3.5 Million Miler learned something. However, type size in the message balloons was too small for “mature” eyes.

I, too, found the You Tube version to be blurry. Flash will be crisp, but may not improve the font size.

Background music was nice. Length of the video seemed just right.

Hi golich17, thanks for your thoughts! The actual demo will be in Flash on the website, crisp and non-blurry. I agree with you that the YouTube version looks fuzzy – we’re working on whether or not we can improve this for our ‘sneak peek.’ And great idea on the flight reminder! Starting next week we will begin including a link in our reminder emails. We will look into including on the completion page as well. Awesome ideas. Thanks!

I’m not exactly sure if this video will look just as it appears to look on this website, but the quality of the video is pretty low-resoultion. It is quite blurry, but I’m sure you wouldn’t post this video if the quality of it was somewhat poor. Other than that, I think it is helpful. This will give customers an idea of the many different things they can do at the kiosk. A good idea I believe would be to include a link to this video in a flight reminder email the day before departure so that customers can access it very easily. I think also having a link available on the purchase completion page would be a good idea as well.
