Carson- Have you seen Generation Kill? It's an HBO miniseries that was on for seven weeks this summer & is about the 2003 invasion of Iraq seen from the perspective of First Recon Marines. I don't know if HBO is re-airing it anytime soon, but it's an AWESOME series & worth checking out.

It's based on a book written by a reporter who was embedded with the First Recon Marines and really gives you an idea as to what life was like for them as they moved from Kuwait to Baghdad as the "tip of the spear" of the invasion, living out of their Humvees with very little rest. The series was really well done & really entertaining, with the humor of the Marines mixed in with the seriousness of the mission. Most of the Marines in the episodes are actors, though one or two of them are the actual First Recon troops portraying themselves in the series.

If it's not on HBO anytime soon, the DVD set came out just before Christmas. It's a little pricy, but Best Buy had it (and all the other HBO specials and series) for half-off the week before Christmas, so they might run another sale again sometime. I also saw it available on-demand on a recent Delta flight.

Carson, I've been reading your blog for a while now and love it. I'm a big fan and enjoy getting to read all of your posts.

Out of all of those reality shows, I do watch "The Amazing Race" and I agree that it's great. Makes me wanna travel more myself. I'm also LOVE The Office. If you love The Office, I suggest that you watch 30 Rock as well. It comes on right after The Office and it is hilarious! Thursday nights have become my TV night.

I also suggest LOST but you have to watch it from the beginning. We got the DVDs and got sucked in. We get together with a group of our friends on Wednesday nights when it's on. We all make dinner and then enjoy it together.

I've heard Entourage is great, but haven't been able to watch any epsiodes yet. I'll definitely have to check it out. Thanks for the recommendation.
