Your gum chewing would drive me crazy. I'd add my Amazon Kindle that I couldn't travel without. I agree with the Boise headphones, an Ipod and a few magazines.

In any case for me, my MP3 player is a must. It's small, fits in my pocket & keeps me entertained. I'll also toss in a book or magazine & if I'm taking it on the given trip, my laptop with a couple DVDs tossed in. I also give myself something to snack on if it's a longer flight. I can do without something on a short flight, but a bag of chips or crackers ends up in my bag if I'm going to be on the plane for a few hours.

I also check the airline's website to see what kind of entertainment may be offered on the flights I'm taking. Having flown Delta so much over the years, I've got memorized that the 777, 767, 757, 737 & MD-90s have some form of entertainment offered, be it the overhead screens or the in-seat screens, so that helps me plan.

And I'm getting spoiled with Delta On Demand...I flew CVG-MCO (Cincy-Orlando) a couple weeks ago on a 737-800 & loved every minute of playing around with that system. I'm a Columbus Blue Jackets fan & was able to keep track of the score of their game that night by watching ESPNNews during the flight. I find myself trying to plan trips around (hopefully) getting flights with it offered.

I'm going to say a camera like everyone else!

Also, it may sound silly, but I can't go without a Hershey's with almonds chocolate bar.

I too travel with a camera, and something to keep warm. The only thing not mentioned: snacks, sudoku and a pen.

I used to chew gum on planes. As a matter of fact, I used to chew gum all the time. It was almost like smoking - literally a pack a day! I've happily been gum-free, however, for over a year now (even when flying).

I don't think I really need anything; a sweater or hoodie will suffice just for flying. Since I got my laptop last year, I take it everywhere, so I would want that (and the charger, I guess; the battery is amazing: working an entire HNL-IAH leg left me with 20% afterward). I used to be fine with airline headphones, but now I have a really nice pair. I got a 2-to-1-prong adapter (you plug a single-prong headset into it, and you can plug the double-pronged adapter end into the seat) back when Delta still had those, so that's great to have.

A camera is a great thing to have too. As for reading material, a book or Sky Mag works for me.

Dude no playboy? Although I hated flying AirBerlin to Germany I thought the playboy they gave me onboard was pretty cool.

Also if you want some good headphones, bose are nice but you're paying for the name. Try out Able Planets theirs are just as good if not better for a lot cheaper. If you want wireless noise cancelation then HP has some nice bluetooth headphones that offer noise cancellation.

No Laptop on your flights?
