With the Northwest/Delta merger, the Delta Air Transport Heritage Museum is working on a new Southern Airways display and collection. Southern started in Atlanta in 1949, and joined with North Central Airlines to form Republic Airlines in 1979. Republic merged with Northwest in 1986.
We would like to build an in-depth collection that tells the story of regional airline Southern, its hometown links with Delta and contributions to Northwest. If you can help with objects, photos/ads or information, I’d love to hear from you. E-mail: museumarchives.delta@delta.com
Can you help?
Thank you,

Just to update, I’ve already received a couple offers of Southern materials from people’s home collections. Thank you for all your support!
Still collecting, so love to hear if anyone else is looking for a good home for their Southern items.

Thank you to retired Capt. John Goodman, for donating his Southern, Republic and Northwest pilot uniforms to the Delta Museum, with several Southern hat and “wings” pins. These are the first uniforms in our new Northwest, Republic and Southern collections!

My Dad was “Bill” W.G.Feagin who was one of the original Southern Airways pilots and was based in Memphis from 1954 until his death in 1966. I have a few old photos of Dad and some planes and would be happy to scan and forward to you for inclusion if you wish.
