It’s another early morning, but I am excited to get the day started. This is our second day being on the work site. Today we will work on our second home as a team.

Yesterday was tremendous! We made great progress on constructing the first home assigned to our team (will put the finishing touches on it tomorrow), and were able to meet those that will benefit from our work here. What a great pleasure it is to be here and to serve these families in this way.

I am here on this trip as a customer, having won the opportunity through the SkyMiles auction website with more than 260,000 miles that will be donated to Habitat for Humanity. I have been impressed with the commitment and dedication of Delta and the employees toward this work. For this project to even happen, it is something very cool.

Looking forward to getting dirty today, increasing my sunburn, and finding new aches all over! It is for a good cause, so out we go. Hammers will fly, usually hitting nails, boards will go up, and twelve families will find themselves in new homes by tomorrow end of day. It certainly is a few days they will never forget! It will also not be forgotten by the employees present here, or the fortunate customers that were able to take part. Not to ever be forgotten!

I hope to join this effort again, perhaps even as early as next year. If you read this, please don’t bid against me! Well worth the miles, and I am starting to save for the next one.
