All jetsetting fashionistas worth their black AmEx cards know that purple is the color, suede is the material, and platforms are the shoe of the season. What . . . you didn’t know? Well, let Spendy Wendy school you on the “It” shoe of her dreams: this purple suede Nanette platform ($355) by none other than the Sultan of Stiletto himself, Stuart Weitzman. (You may now genuflect.)

In an interview with Spendy Wendy, Weitzman reveals, “There are actually a lot of things to talk about with this shoe, more than you notice. First of all, it’s the color of the season. Secondly, it’s the look of the season, this high-cut shoe bootie. But in order to make it a sexy look and not a grandma look, I did the peep toe on it. So it became really a sharp-looking shoe, that if you wear it with dark tights and make almost a boot look out of it, it’s really very, very sexy. And it’s a high heel, it measures four inches, but it doesn’t wear like a four-inch heel because it has inside of the shoe a three-quarter-inch platform, and outside of the shoe a three-quarter-inch platform. So if you take the inch-and-a-half platform off the shoe, you are really walking in the pitch of a two-and-half-inch shoe. And that’s why we’re selling so many and it’s so comfortable.”

Whatever you say, Mr. Weitzman! But we’d love the Nanette even if they felt like we were walking on stilts and we had to schedule an appointment with our chiropractor the next day.
