Hi everyone,
As you probably already know, October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. What you might not know is how closely dedicated Delta is to several efforts that support The Breast Cancer Research Foundation® (BCRF), and that you can make a difference too.
On September 15th we launched a public promotional campaign where we will donate 250 SkyMiles to BCRF every time a customer checks in online or books a ticket at delta.com. SkyMiles members will also earn 250 miles every time they book a ticket or check in at delta.com, although even non-members can participate as well. If you’re interested, you can read more about it and register at www.delta.com/bcrf. We’re promoting this offer in a lot of channels, but you can help spread the word even more by becoming a fan of our new official Facebook page and encouraging your friends to do the same.
Delta also offers other ways for customers to support breast cancer research, including the sale of pink lemonade on board for $2 a glass (net proceeds benefit BCRF) and the ability for customers to make donations during each flight. And if you do fly during the month of October you’ll probably notice many of our flight attendants dressed to the nines in a brand new, limited-edition Pink Dress patterned after Delta’s signature Richard Tyler-designed Red Dress, as well as in a variety of other pink clothing options with all net proceeds benefiting BCRF.
Finally, also very special and unique this year to help raise awareness is the Oct. 1 kickoff event where employees at Delta and Northwest Airlines who are breast cancer survivors will join together to fly from New York to Minneapolis on Delta’s pink and white Boeing 757 aircraft – a.k.a. “the Pink Plane.” Check back later for more coverage on this as well as for an update on how well our online campaign is doing!

I got the email about the bonus 250 miles the other day and signed up, will probably be booking 2 or three trips this month
Is there a lot more pink on the plane? I remember flying one and the tail fin and wing tips were pink (i think) it was the tail fin.

I am so excited about Delta’s involvment in the wonderful cause. I am especially excited about the “pink martini” being back on board for October. I think Delta should also have some “pink” tshirts, bag tags, ect available for customers to purchase and help this amazing cause along with Delta. Thanks again for all that you do to help find a cure!

I flew DL this week to ATL, was really impressed to the commitment for this cause. Yesterday was jeans and the pink shirt, was happy to buy the lemonade for $5 instead of the $2.
Great job Delta!
