Today our self-service team began testing our redesigned kiosk application in Atlanta, Los Angeles, Orlando, New York-JFK. Stay tuned for a full recap of the test from Mark in the coming weeks (you might remember he first gave you a sneak peek at the redesign back in March).
You can also read more about our “faster, friendlier” new kiosks from the Atlanta Journal Constitution here. One of my favorite new features is the ability to find out weather in your destination (see the screenshot below) while your passes print! To learn more about how to check in for your next flight from one of our self service kiosks visit this link at delta.com.

Awww I missed the new kiosk design by 2 days I was flying out of LAX back on Tuesday.
But I did notice it had more languages avaiable.
I do find the delta Kiosk one of the easiest to use compared to other airlines, I just wish I could swipe my Skymiles card and it pull my registration info.

Katie: Is that true, what HWGeek says about not being able to swipe a SkyMiles card to pull up a reservation? If so, doesn’t that seem like an oversight?

I thought I was just unlucky with the Kiosk the first time. But I’ve tried 3, two at JFK and one in AUS and it I believe said that it does not recognize credit card. So Ijust enter the Skymiles number manually.

Did you guys fix the kiosk so that you can check-in even if your ticket is mixed with non-SkyTeam airlines? I fly international routes all the time and it is a pain in the butt when I’m connecting with a non-SkyTeam carrier (because I actually have to stand in line for an agent). And yes, I always have e-tickets. To me, Lufthansa is the gold standard when it comes to kiosk check-in. It doesn’t matter how you’ve purchased your ticket or what carriers you might connect with - your LH boarding pass will print. Period. And they also give you the “real” boarding passes with the cardboard-like stock. Not that flimsy thin paper that can get crunched up or smudged really easily.
Delta has certainly made progress with the kiosk and online check-in process over the past year, so I’m glad there is continuous improvement at work.

The lookup in the old version was busted. I was able to get it to work part way with my Delta AMEX, but it still rarely found my flight.
