I too was struck by the enthusiasm and excitement that surrounds a build. 

I've worked on 4 builds... so far, ranging from October in MSP to summer in DTW.  Whether it was cold (swimsuit weather by MSP standards) or exhaustingly hot, the volunteers never gave up.  Working right alongside the homeowners brought the meaning of the program home and energized all who were there.  

Another big plus are the Habitat folks.  They're always there to answer your questions and guide you.  You're allowed to make mistakes.  You're allowed to learn.  

I'm looking forward to my next build.
