I will be flying from NYC to Cape Town on Delta from 6/3 (i.e. the new route starting 6/3).

What can we expect re. entertainment in economy class. Do we get our own little tv were we can select the movies we want to see?

I guess, when it comes to food, we should not be expecting much??

Thanks
Gary

this is all great news. and delta is making international travel easier. BUT, easier doesn't mean better.
I fly close to 300,000 miles a year with many many international trips. I usually fly delta b/c I live in the hub (and i like my miles) but i've reached the point where comfort outweighs convenience.

Delta is trying to compete with international carriers with substandard planes and service. The international BusinessElite product just doesn't cut it...especially when you are now competing with international airlines that offer FAR superior planes and customer service. It's actually quite shocking how much better the customer service is on some of these other carriers (Singapore, Malaysian, Emirates...)

I think delta has been doing all the right things in the domestic market..and all the recent changes are great. I'm a million miler on American and switched to delta (almost 1MM there too) a few years back as delta was making all the right changes with the customer in mind...and they still are for the most part...I will only fly delta domestically.

My biggest problem -- and mainly b/c I am a very frequent guest of delta internationally -- is the business class product.

I was REALLY REALLY looking forward to the lie-flat beds on the ATL - Shanghai route that delta advertised and promoted for years...only to learn when i flew that route the first week, they were mysteriously not there. I have flown that route about 4 times now and just can't see myself continuing to do so...not when a connection flight from Korean Air offers better seats and better service (and still gives me my delta miles). When i fly to moscow, i won't take the direct atl - moscow flight...instead i'll fly to houston and get the Singapore Airlines flight to Moscow (and still get my delta miles)....and when i go to dubai 6 times a year, i'll probalby start flying the emirates flight direct from new york or houston....

Delta has got to (QUICKLY) upgrade their fleet with state of the art business class seats to compete in these international markets they are entering...while Cathay, Singapore and others are now on their 4th generation lie-flat beds, delta has about 2 planes in the total fleet with this --just flying to Mumbai...

Please fix this delta...and you will get all my business (and money).

I love Delta, I really do especially after having a bad experience with American which made me swear never to fly again, even though it meant losing my gold status with them.

But trying to get my job to book me on Delta for International travel is a pain, they have no problem booking me on Delta domestically, but for international travel I get stuck on airlines such as Air Berlin because of the prices, and it sucks because I would become Silver after my Berlin Trip if I were to fly Delta.

But any who I won't complain, I love the Airline, friendly staff clean planes and as long as the little TV's in the seat work good entertainment! I guess sometimes you have to pay a bit extra for quality.

Oh and by the way I love the Turkey Bacon sandwich and Chicken Parmesan (Spelling) Sandwich!
