As someone who flys 4 planes a week I’ve come to rely on CR as an “island of calm” in the sea of chaos that is ATL Terminal A.

I was floored at the decision to pull top shelf brands and replace them with crap. Crowne Royal? Gone! Tanqueray Gin? Gone! Replaces with Seagrums? Please! Its more offensive to the saavy of frequent business travelers.

Several years ago DL wanted to charge CR members for cocktails. The uproar from the FF community put that down. But with today’s cost cutting measures I found myself going to buy a drink at Chilis and get the brand I like.

Here’s a suggestion: If you have to keep the drinks free then use the cheap stuff. But keep the top shelf stuff and charge a couple of bucks for it. I’m willing to pay.

Again, an agreement, as a Seattle based many year platinum member who recently renewed I feel my membership has been devalued by at least half. Are you listening Delta??? What are you going to do for your best customers?? Why not a fuel surcharge for all instead of penalizing a few!

I agree previous comments. I feel very ripped off to find I have spent $300 to renew a membership and then come to find out that Crown Rooms in London & Phoenix which I have mostly frequented are being closed. I also agree the Atlanta Crown rooms are deteriorating and are hopelessly overcrowded. I am really begining to question loyalty to Delta and to be honest as a frequent international traveller am now begining to look at other airlines. Very poor stratgeic move in my opinion.

In response to Oxbusfrm, the CVG B14 CRC is not closing. The Business Elite lounge is being consolidated into the Crown Room along with the appropriate amenities.

I am truly upset that the Crown Room at the Seattle Airport (SeaTac) was permanently closed on April 30th. I was in that Crown Room on April 28th and there was no indication that it would be closing. Also, I had not received notice that it was closing as mentioned in the article of April 16th. SeaTac is my home airport.

I am a platinum level member and have been using that Crown Room for many years. All of the Delta flights leave from Concourse A and the Northwest flights leave from the South Satellite. When the merger goes through which concourse will Delta use? The A Concourse was just completely redone a few years ago.

I have purchased a Crown Room membership for myself and my husband each year. My husband does not fly as much as I do but has enjoyed using the Crown Room at SeaTac. I will continue to purchase a Crown Room membership for myself but I will no longer purchase a membership for him.

I can not believe you are closing the Crown Room in Phoenix. Last month I just coughed up 70,000 miles to join the Crown Room over this next year and I live and fly out to Phoenix. It would have been helpful to know that you were going to close the Phoenix room down so I could decide whether it was worth the cost to join. I want my miles back!

Hmmm. When Delta hit me up for a fee to renew my Crown Room membership they forgot to mention that they would be closing a bunch of the lounges. Must have just been an oversight, huh? Announce the changes right AFTER everyone has to renew. Thats a sound honest business practice, isn’t it? Well maybe I’ll take my Platinum business and spend it at American instead.

Mgmt does it again, another bone head move at cvg that leaves the phat plat’s scratching their heads. Closing the B14 CR and leave the A concourse CR open, but only M-F. Come on, you get more seat revenue out of cvg than anywhere, and you continue to act as if you don’t give a darn if cvg exists or not. Are you trying to drive us to SDF, DAY, CMH or IND????? I guess when you have a monopoly in cvg you can get away with it. Maybe with the impending merger, you cut cvg as a hub and we finally get some carriers that want our business. The cvg plat’s have been fiercely loyal to DL, for we know a good thing when we see it, when will you reconize it?

I understand the need to reduce costs in today’s economic climate. However, I do not agree with Delta’s decision to close the CR in PHX. My reason is this: Once the merger with NWA is completed, a combined DAL and NWA will occupy the majority of the northern concourse of Terminal 3 at Sky Harbor. Unless Delta anticipates a major pullback from PHX, we are talking nearly 30 flights a day combined with NWA. From my experience in PHX when living in Scottsdale before my return back to Atlanta, there are a high number of Plats both DAL and NWA that will be very upset about this news. The others that are closing are mostly understandable - but I wish someone at Delta making these decisions would have the foresight to look down the way at the negative impact this will bring to the combined carrier.

When it was annouced that Platinum level members would have to start paying for their Crown Room memeberships Delta said they would be making great improvements to the CR to make it better. I am still waiting for these improvements three years later.

I pay my annual fee and have not seen the improved decor, food, beverages or service that were promised.

When I look at the quality of some of the other airline’s lounges I feel somewhat cheated. Continental’s lounges are quite nice.

I plan to remain a loyal Delta customer and CR member in the future but I feel that the services offered to the premium business class traveler is starting to fall off.
