Washington DC is also one of my favorite cities. A trip to the top of the Washington monument is highly recommended. Tickets are FREE, but you have to arrive very early in the morning to get them. Also, a highly recommended sight would be Gravelly Point Park, open from 6am to 10pm. It is located at the end of the north runway at DCA, when planes land using the Potomac visual approach they are only about 100 feet above your head, bring your camera!
