I just returned from a 7th grade trip with my daughter from Washington D.C. It was the first time since having children that I have flown Delta and it is the last time I will EVER fly Delta. The safety video I find to be extremely hypocritical!!
My daughter has a deadly peanut allergy to peanuts and unfortunately Delta's flight attendants and pilots must NOT be trained sufficiently in such a VERY common and serious condition. Not to mention common customer service. From the flight leaving New Orleans, all transfers and home from Washington, it was a completely stressful NIGHTMARE!!!! The last leg from Atlanta to New Orleans was wonderful. Those attendants and the pilot were the most caring.
Delta's "peanut policy" is to not serve peanuts three rows in front of the isle and three rows behind the row of the person with the allergy. That is a true sign of ignorance!! That is like saying you can smoke in the first 10 rows but not in the next 10 rows. You might as well smoke on the whole flight!! We all know that on a plane we will all be breathing the same recirculated air.
All of this in mind, I do realize that the flight before us could have had peanuts, therefore, there could be peanuts in the air. I can only control what is on my daughters flight. As a mother I will do what ever it take to ensure the safety of my daughter. There is only so much I can control.
After arguing with the attendants and a pilot I had to sit and watch a "safety"
video! Ha! Then watch the CEO of Delta give a speech at the end about how Delta's first priority is the comfort and safety of their customers. What a joke!! I would like him explain that to my 12 year old daughter who was scared to death to fly on the plane because she knows way too well what a deadly reaction to peanuts and a stab in the leg with an epi pen feels like!

FACTS: 11 MILLION AMERICANS SUFFER FROM FOOD ALLERGIES.

PEANUT ALLERGY IS THE MOST DRAMATIC AND DEADLY OF ALL FOOD ALLERGIES.

Loved the new safety video, I always get so nervous when the plane is taking off so the funny bits in the video were so nice it seems everyone at the plane loved it! And Katherine is gorgeous. Is the female pilot in the end actually a real pilot? my mom and I thought that it was awesome that Delta showcased a female pilot in the video!!

Great video KatherineL. Now let's pause and have a moment of silence for people fired from Delta for Blogging and taking pictures. The sheer hypocrisy is galling to me. Ellen Simonetti did not deserve to lose her job. When will Delta step up and do the right thing? Not until its too late..well here in Canada the FLY? ABD Anybody But Delta!! campaign will be kicking off with T-shirts and viral videos. We hope you all enjoy them. You Go Deltalina...
