Hey everyone,
As you all might have gathered from my previous entries and many responses to your comments and questions, I am a full-fledged aviation geek (or unofficial airline expert as I like to call it). I’m passionate about what I do and I love the airline industry.
And I’m not alone…I’m sure there are a lot of you out there that are just as interested in the industry as I am. So, for all my fellow airline geeks, check this out…
Here she is just after painting…a peek at Delta’s first 777-200LR. And while she looks good on the outside in our new livery, wait ’til you see the inside. The delivery flight from Seattle to Atlanta is scheduled for Feb. 29.

Let’s just hope that every “aviation nut” already know’s about this blog, then we’re in business! There is something about the freedom of traveling by airplane but it’s another freedom to know the nuts ‘n bolts, the ins -n- outs about the airplane you happen to be flying on. Who else gets a warm fuzzy feeling in the pit of their stomach whenever you see a wide-body taking to the skies and dream of being onboard, too? Anybody else feel the same way??
Oh yeah, the pic of the -LR is beyond description. (Cloud 9)

What a perfect opportunity to have bloggers experience the new Delta 777. If you want pics of the delivery flight, let me know.

Just curious, on what route do you plan to put this beautiful baby to work?
February 8th, 2008 at 5:14 pm
Wow, just wow. Which routes will she be used for? I’m guessing ATL to Shanghai and/or Johannesburg. I’d like to see the 787 come to DAL - I mean it is a boeing airplane and all…

Hey, hey fellow aviation enthusiasts!
The first flight will be an ATL-LAX-ATL run in early March followed by the aircraft’s first ETOPS flight from ATL to NRT.
Once we take delivery of 7101’s sister in mid-March, the plan is to put these two babies to work on the ATL-JFK-BOM route.

I must say Chris, this is very exciting!
I am aware of the fact that Delta is receiving a lot more than 2 777-200LRs. Can you possibly provide ideas Delta has for the routes for those planes? Even if they are not written in stone, it would be very interesting hear!
Thanks

TriStar_Fan, believe me, every “aviation nut”, especially Delta ones, have been tracking this bird since the day it peaked out of Boeing’s doors. It’s like a 24 hour watch over at Anet.
