Las Vegas: More than just the Strip

Being a Flight Attendant and a newly appointed Instructor Evaluator at Delta has its advantages. During my nearly 10 years here I have seen my share of our destinations worldwide but I always enjoy making the trip back to my hometown, Las Vegas, Nevada.

So what can I tell you about Vegas that you don’t already know?

A LOT! Everyone knows the Strip, downtown, all the shows, and of course the gambling, but there is another side of Vegas I love as well, including national parks, historical sights, and of course shopping!

Have your own Vegas travel tips to add? Drop me a note in the comments below.

Have fun and I will look for you in the skies,

What do you do when you fly?

I love the time I spend on airplanes.

Sometimes I think it is the only time that I sit still for any length of time! It seems like every movie I have seen lately has been on a plane—it’s the perfect time to catch up on the latest. I just saw Oscar nominated films Elizabeth: The Golden Age, Into the Wild, and La Vie en Rose on my last round trip to Europe. And if it weren’t for flight time, I don’t think I would ever have time for anything more than the cartoons in The New Yorker.

In a recent study my group completed on in-flight entertainment, we found that reading, sleeping, and watching movies top the list of in-flight activities of SkyMiles members.

How ’bout a new plane for the new Delta?

Hey everyone,

As you all might have gathered from my previous entries and many responses to your comments and questions, I am a full-fledged aviation geek (or unofficial airline expert as I like to call it). I’m passionate about what I do and I love the airline industry.

And I’m not alone…I’m sure there are a lot of you out there that are just as interested in the industry as I am. So, for all my fellow airline geeks, check this out…

Ship 7101

Here she is just after painting…a peek at Delta’s first 777-200LR. And while she looks good on the outside in our new livery, wait ’til you see the inside. The delivery flight from Seattle to Atlanta is scheduled for Feb. 29.
