Greetings!
I work in the SkyMiles department and I’m responsible for generating new partnerships that allow members to earn more miles with the program.
We’ve seen a great response to the new partners that we added late last year such as Shutterfly and Teleflora. I am very excited about all of the things that SkyMiles has in store for 2008. We already have some great new partners on the way!
The program’s success comes solely from everyone taking advantage of the numerous ways for you to earn miles. I want to make it easier for everyone to earn miles in your everyday activities and purchases. I would love to get some additional ideas for future partnerships from you, our loyal customers. You can be as general as a new category that we don’t offer or as specific as your favorite brand.
I’ll make sure to keep everyone posted in the coming weeks and months to share our progress.

SkyMiles - Partnership Marketing

Hey Mike,
Here are my ideas:
- InMotion Entertainment (the airport DVD rental service)
- Flexcar (major car-sharing program in many metro areas)
- CLEAR Registered Traveler Program
Lastly, Mortgage Payments by Credit Card - I’d love to put my mortgage payment on my Delta SkyMiles Credit Card, does Amex offer any mortgage/financial services that would allow me to do that?

My ideas:
Sprint
Google Checkout
Paypal
OpenTable
More gas stations
Mortgage payments would of course be nice, but not sure how you’d do that. But bring back the eloan / skymiles partnership, that did wonders for me.

SkyMiles these days are so easy to accumulate yet so hard to redeem. The recent change in SkyChoice availability is making some of the most loyal flyers fuming mad (those threads can be found on another website). SkySaver is becoming quite hard to redeem as well. What good is having Skymiles if you can’t use them?

Ben, I agree with you. Sprint would be a great addition, i’ve been with them forever now it feels like. Jacob, CLEAR or even rtGo! would also be a cool addition, as then maybe Delta SkyMiles members can get a somewhat advantage when it comes to the RT programs. How about Target or Best Buy, both which have almost all their products online. Who doesn’t shop at Target?

I agree with most of these also. But I’d add Starbucks and Amazon.com.

I just thought of another, how about National Geographic.

Hey TinFlyer, we absolutely hear you on that front. We’ve got some great new changes to the program coming this year, and we’ll be sharing more with you very soon. Stay tuned.
As for the request for Target, we have hundreds of retailers that you can earn miles with on http://www.skymilesshopping.com
Thank you for all the feedback and please keep it coming. I’m seeing some great ideas!

I would like to see more offers for technology companies, such as:
NewEgg.com
TigerDirect.com
MacMall.com
Amazon.com
PayPal.com

Why don’t you create a facebook app for us young FF members? You can distribute and track FF miles, track flights, invite friends, etc. on our profile.

I would like to see Harry and David as part of the SkyMiles earning program

I know this doesn’t answer your question, but is there a way that SkyMiles can establish a tier level higher than platinum? With the lowering of the MQM level from 100K to 75K there are now significantly more people making platinum. I fly DL 45+ weeks a year, and there are often 40 people on the upgrade list. The last two years, I have had 150K MQMs and I feel that I should receive some sort of additional recognition (e.g. Free Crown Room Club, automatic/immediate upgrades from any fare basis, extension of platinum status to other family members, etc)?

SuperShuttle (Airport supershuttle ties right in to flights)
Bestbuy
CircuitCity
Walmart
Sam’s Club
Costco (and any other retailer)

I have been exclusively flying with Delta for years and never focused on redeeming SkyMiles. Now that I am finally considering trying to redeem them for merchandise, I am first finding out now that I need to become a member of the MQM club in order to purchase anything!! Being that I don’t fly any where close to the amount that I used to, I have been told by Delta’s representative that all I can do is order Magazines!!! I am just curious if anyone has any clue on how I can redeem my existing miles for merchandise or am I stuck and is Delta just going to lose me as a credit card customer and a flying customer?

I vote for Amazon.com and Paypal.com (paypal miles per dollar spent through paypal on any merchant)
