It’s been years since I’ve had a nice, real long vacation (I know, hard to believe when I work for an airline). So, this year I decided to do-it-up right and will be going to South America tomorrow for two weeks with one of my coworkers.
I’ll be taking a cruise from Buenos Aires to Valparaiso, with some amazing sights in between like Cape Horn, Ushuaia, and the Chilean Fjords. Stay tuned, I’ll have lots of photos and videos to share.
And, if you want a postcard, drop me a note with your address, and I’ll see what I can do!

Thanks guys!
I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I can make this flight to Buenos Aires…it’s packed! Ohhh, the joys of standby!
I’ll take a photo tonight of my luggage and post it to this article…if you wanna see how I’ve jamed 13 days of clothes into 1 carry-on bag and a personal tote, LOL.

I’m dying to take a trip to Ushuaia, if only as a gateway to an Antarctica expedition. Take loads of pictures!

Hey Mike,
Funny you mention Antarctica, that was actually my original plan.
I was looking at the Orient Lines and Voyages of Discovery Cruises, but I couldn’t fit them on my schedule and budget right now, but I’ve definitely got it planned for 2008!
The photos on Flickr of Antarctica are amazing! Traveling to the end of the earth would be super cool!

I lived in Buenos Aires for over a year. Beautiful country and people, although they are going thru some economic crisis right now. If you have a chance, go any coffee shop near Marcelo T. Alvear and spend a hour there. Thats the essence and microcasm of Argentenean life. The people are amazing and full of life. As you can see, I am a fan. And if you are flying business elite from Altanta to Buenos Aires, enjoy the sundaes.

That’s wonderful. It should be nice to make a stop in Colombia. Don’t believe too much in news!!!.
Happy Holidays,

Hi guys,
Well I did make the flights, I got BusinessElite too on the way down (and it was close!)
We just left Montevideo yesterday after a small delay at the port. We are at sea today, and then we’ll be in Puerto Madryn tomorrow.
I was hoping to get some photos uploaded, but the satellite connection on the boat is a bit slow, but I’ll see what I can do…

Jacob,
My Hubby and I did this trip, it was mostly great..Stunning scenery, We were on the Regal princess..We were unable to get into Ushia because of weather, but found the Falklands stunning…I’m an artist and the light there was amazing.. We met a couple on the ship that had pre-arranged 2 land rovers to go to the Penguin colonys, a miserable ride-to an incredible site -stunning to be the only people surrounded by 1000’s of penguins…Have a fabulous trip and good luck getting home..We’re S3B’s so we know the drill….happy Holidays
